Quechee Gorge is like Vermont's own little Grand Canyon! It is one mile long, 165 feet deep, and was formed by glacial activity over 13,000 years ago. It’s the deepest gorge in Vermont and attracts thousands of visitors each year. The relaxing sound of gushing water and the eye-catching ferns along the trail make it a popular spot for hiking, camping and picnicking.

Green Mountain National Forest
Vermont is home to 67 mountains with endless miles of hiking trails, lakes, ponds, and waterfalls to explore. Green Mountain National Forest is located in southwestern and central Vermont and provides recreational activities for all seasons! If you are visiting in the summer, you can enjoy camping, hiking, hunting, fishing or canoeing; autumn is amazing for viewing all the vibrant colors; winters are great for skiing & snowboarding; and spring is magical with the blooming wildflowers & chirping birds.

The Robert Frost Interpretive Trail in the Green Mountains is my favorite spot. There are signs with famous poems by Robert Frost throughout the short and interesting trail. You’ll be able to see famous mountain peaks alongside captivating scenery. If you're adventurous and like the wilderness, the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a great fit for you. Vermont’s Teddy Bear Factory is a fascinating place to see how teddy bears are made. Enjoy a guided tour and see how the bears come to life from cutting to stitching to stuffing. You can even make one of your own, or buy one from their gift shop!

Immerse yourself in this deepest-dimension quarry — one of the natural wonders of the world through a guided tour. Explore its rich history through the exhibits in the Visitors’ Center and learn how the stone workers turn the raw granite into final products. Stowe Recreation Path
Stowe Recreation Path is an internationally recognized and award-winning 5.3-mile-long paved trail, popular among visitors as well as locals. It is open year-round and is perfect for biking, walking and running. Beautiful views of the mountains and the meadows all along the trail make it extremely relaxing. Picnic tables, wildlife, and a playground add fun for all age groups. Make sure to check out the historic Stowe village at one end and Vermont's iconic covered bridge on the other. The iconic Vermont State House, located in Montpelier–the smallest city to serve as a state capital–is one of the oldest and most well-preserved State Capitol buildings. It is the seat of the Vermont government. Its House and Senate chambers are the oldest active legislative halls in the United States that have maintained their original interiors! The massive building with its golden dome is visible from far away. It is open to the public year-round from Monday-Friday 8:00 am until 4:00 pm.
